We are excited to announce that Alessandro Portela has joined the Keyframe family!
Alessandro joins Keyframe from Modern Energy Group, where was a Senior Director at focused on both corporate and asset-level investments in clean energy infrastructure. He’ll continue to do more of both at Keyframe – particularly as we increasingly look at budding distributed energy portfolios in markets where interconnect is becoming scarce and there are novel asset financing needs.
And while Keyframe has some development finance experience, particularly in platform building (i.e. TeraWatt, a Keyframe incubation) and off-balance sheet financing (i.e. Logical Buildings, a Keyframe led VPP) – Alessandro has been intensively sourcing, diligencing, and partnering with developers for the past 5 years, with some really impressive success stories like Industrial Sun, a behind the meter utility scale solar and storage developer. We won’t hold it against him that he also made a hydrogen investment.
Before Modern, Alessandro spent three years with Bain & Company in New York, as a generalist supporting private equity diligence, M&A, and growth strategy work, primarily focused on industrials. Alessandro holds a B.Sc. in Economics and B.A. in International Studies, magna cum laude, from the Huntsman Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Some of the more unique things that stuck out about Alessandro:
He’s fluent in Italian (where he still has family) and Portuguese (which has come in handy during some work stints in Brazil)
He’s extremely knowledgeable about meat distribution. Particularly NYC meat distribution. Typically when Keyframe recruits, we send a gift basket. For Alessandro, we sent a box of steaks.
His resume says he’s an opera singer. While we did an extensive background check, we have not yet validated this. We will keep you updated!
